But this coup was one of the most terrifying moments in American history. The red flags and warning signs were there. Donald Trump and his allies built up a violent mob that was ready to demolish everything our Founding Fathers worked for.
In the disastrous attack, these people left our Capitol smeared with treason and the stench of death in the air. Our democracy was under siege for the first time in modern history, all because of Trumpism and American fascism. While this event will forever be burned in our minds, here's a reminder of what happened one year ago:
