How To Live Free In An Unfree World

[link removed]

Dear John,

Elon Musk has been On Fire!

Musk is the cofounder of PayPal. He's the founder and CEO of Space X, CEO of Tesla, and cofounder of Neuralink.

He is also, currently, the richest person in the world.

In his most recent comments, he's sounding every bit the Self-Governor. But he's been saying some electric things for a couple of years now. For example...

In 2020, he explained the dangers of business lockdowns and stimulus to Joe Rogan...

This notion that you can send checks out to everybody and things will be fine is just not true.

Some people have this absurd view that the economy is like some magic horn of plenty; It just makes stuff. Goods and services? They just come from this magic horn of plenty.

So, if somebody has more stuff than somebody else it is just because they took more from this magic horn of plenty.

Let me break it to the fools out there: If you don’t make stuff, there is no stuff.

We’ve become detached from reality. You can’t just legislate money and solve these things. If you don’t make the stuff, there is no stuff... Obviously.

"Obviously" is right. But his latest statement excites us even more because, frankly, it's not currently obvious to most people...

"Government is simply the biggest corporation, with the sole monopoly on violence."

That statement is a core concept of self-government!

** How the State literally steals our ability to self-govern
------------------------------------------------------------
A century ago, sociologist Max Weber observed that, "A compulsory political organization with continuous operations will be called a 'state' insofar as its administrative staff successfully upholds a claim to the monopoly of the legitimate use of physical force in the enforcement of its order."

But Weber didn't really mean that in a bad way, and Elon's version packs more punch.

Actually, Musk strikes at the root. Whenever someone wants to make an issue "political," they are expressing the desire that armed personnel should harass or arrest people who disagree with them. These people may, subsequently, be killed by accident or on purpose, and the person proposing the political policy is just fine with that.

Or is that not yet obvious to them?

That's why, on the Advocates for Self-Government website, we have a tool that asks the question...

** Are you okay if someone gets killed over this?
------------------------------------------------------------
That tool is called the Human Respect Test.

If you've never taken it, I'm going to encourage you to try it out now.
Take the Test ([link removed])
Once you've taken it, then you can do one or both of the following things...
1. Share the Human Respect Test with friends.
2. Make a contribution to support our outreach efforts.

Support The Advocates ([link removed])

Here's why you'd want to make a contribution.

At present, 40% of the people who take the Human Respect Test finish it. Even better...

81% of those who finish agree they don't want to use coercive force to achieve their political goals.

The Human Respect Test makes it obvious that, "The government is... the monopoly on violence."

To see just how we achieve that 81% rate, go experience for yourself the...
