Friend,
Last night in Kentucky, Democrat Andy Beshear defeated the Republican incumbent Matt Bevin in the race for Governor.
And it was a clear rejection of the divisiveness, pettiness, and cynicism that defines the political status quo and politicians like Roger Williams who have whole-heartedly embraced Donald Trump. In Fayette county -- the suburban county where Donald Trump held his rally for Bevin the night before the election -- Democrats voted for Andy Beshear in a 2-to-1 landslide.
We can run proudly on our values, and we can win -- everywhere.
Donald Trump won Kentucky by 30 points. He won Texas by 9.
Last night it became even more clear why we are going to continue to fight like hell in 2020 -- because when we show up and fight, real progressive change is possible. Not just in so-called “swing states” -- but in what the conventional wisdom considers ”red” states too.
If you weren't sure if our campaign to take on Roger Williams was possible before, you have to know it is now. In 2016, Williams won by 21 points. In 2018, we pushed that margin to within single digits. In 2020, with your help, we’re going to get the job done.
Can you rush a contribution to our campaign to energize a historic movement bringing out more voters in Texas than ever before?
