24 hours to reach our goal - pls help

Hi John,

In one week, we’ll mark the one year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection.

It was the first time in living history that the United States did not experience a peaceful transfer of power.

Five people died. Hundreds more were injured. And the White Christian Nationalist zeal that fueled the violence continues to threaten our government and our society.

We’ve set a goal of raising $10,000 by midnight tomorrow, to scale our efforts ahead of next year’s midterm elections, to recruit, support, and help elect atheists and humanists to positions of power.

If you want to stop the violent Christian Nationalist crusade, make a year-end gift of $15, $25, $50, or any amount and help us recruit, support, and elect atheists and humanists to office. With less than 48 hours left, we’re just $3,678 short of reaching our $10,000 goal.

As the political and advocacy arm of the American Humanist Association, the Center for Freethought Equality fights back against the tyrannical agenda set by the religious right.

Your gift today will support these efforts by:

  • Working to elect leaders in government who will champion humanist and secular values;
  • Fighting back against all efforts that misuse religion to restrict the rights of women, LGBTQ+ people, religious minorities, and the nonreligious;
  • Tracking new threats to our rights, mobilizing people to speak up, and holding Members of Congress accountable for their actions;
  • Influencing policy and legislation through high-level lobbying with key decision-makers;

These efforts are working. Even as we face new threats from an energized Christian Nationalist movement, there are reasons to hope. Some of our endorsed humanist and agnostic candidates were elected this year, including Jalen McKee-Rodriguez, who won a seat on the San Antonio (Texas) City Council, Audra Killingsworth, who won re-election to the Apex (North Carolina) Town Council, and Andrew Zwicker, who flipped a red New Jersey State Senate seat (District 16).

But we cannot underestimate the menace we face. The same forces behind the deadly riot on January 6th continue to mobilize against our safety and security.

Please contribute $10, $25, $50, or whatever you can today, and help us build a safer, saner, stronger America for all people.

Grateful for you.
