With so much going on in our world, it’s easy to ask, “Why give to NARAL right now?”

And here’s my answer: Without reproductive freedom, we lose so much. We can’t afford to take that risk. NARAL has the political savvy, the organizing capacity, and the massive membership (2.5 million of us!) necessary to fight for reproductive freedom for every body in the year ahead.

Without reproductive freedom, someone could be forced by state politicians to remain pregnant against their will or made to travel hundreds of miles across state lines to access abortion care—assuming they can even afford it.

Abortion bans—like Texas’s vigilante-enforced ban on abortion—disproportionately impact people who already face discriminatory barriers to the care they need: women, Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, the LGBTQI+ community, immigrants, young people, people with disabilities, and those working to make ends meet.

NARAL and its members are a powerful line of defense against additional attempts to chip away at abortion access or completely end our constitutional right to abortion.
