Dear Friend,

Since 2016, we have occasionally sent you emails updating you about the latest amicus brief filed by our sister organization, the Institute for Faith & Family. You may have wondered, "What is an amicus brief, and why are we filing them?"

Literally, an amicus curiae means a "friend of the court." It is a document that is filed in a court by someone who is not directly related to the case under consideration. It argues in favor of a particular judicial ruling, and contains additional information that can be useful for the judges evaluating the case. It even becomes part of the official case record.

For any organization with a vested interest in the decisions of the Supreme Court, this is one of the few ways you can influence the judicial process. And for a state organization of our size, it's pretty impressive to consider we are having an impact at the federal judicial level, and that we filed dozens of these briefs.

All of this has been made possible by your support of efforts like ours to amplify the coalition's voice across the branches and boundaries of your government.

Friend, if you haven’t given yet this year to the work of the NC Values Coalition, I urge you to make your donation today <[link removed]>. If you’ve given already this year, we hope you would consider also making a donation to IFFNC <[link removed]> in gratitude for their hard work making us 'friends of the court' by writing, filing, and filing dozens of amicus briefs.

The year is almost over, and we’re already preparing for next year’s work. We need your continued support to be able to fight for the values we all hold foremost in our lives—pro-life, pro-family, and pro-religious liberty—so that our combined efforts result in the worship of almighty God through our public witness.

If you support our work defending your pro-life values, would you consider making a needed end-of-year donation of $25, $50, $100, or more today? <[link removed]>
