![]() Dear John,
Lillian's List Foundation is leading the effort to recruit and train women to run, win, and become champions of gender equity in North Carolina. To that end, we are so proud of the women already championing gender equity in the North Carolina General Assembly.
To help amplify the work of these female legislators, we are highlighting one each week in our #WomanCrushWednesday spotlight. This week, our #WomanCrush is Representative Mary Belk!

FEATURED BILL: BREAST CANCER DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING PARITY
Every year, more than 200,000 cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed in women nationwide.
In order to help with the cost of diagnosis, Rep. Belk, along with her colleagues Reps. White, Lambeth, and Carney introduced the Breast Cancer Diagnostic Imaging Parity bill this April.
The bill would provide health coverage parity for breast cancer diagnostic imaging. This means that health plans in the state that provide benefits for a diagnostic examination for breast cancer must cover them similarly to or more favorably than the way they cover breast cancer screening examinations.
Early detection of breast cancer is key to helping women get the treatment they need to survive. We should make it easier and more affordable to get diagnosed.
In solidarity,
