My name is Beverly Chatmon. I am a registered nurse and a longtime Omaha resident — and my daughter Alisha could become Nebraska’s first Black Congresswoman. I couldn’t be more proud of her, and I’m hoping you can chip in to her campaign today.

Her whole life, Alisha has wanted to help people and has been determined to fight for what is right. I’ve always encouraged her to stand up for others and pay attention to ensure she is available to help whenever necessary. When I was in nursing school when she was just seven years old, she asked me to teach her CPR, which she has used several times to help folks in emergencies.

Alisha was the first person in our family to get a four-year degree, and during the summers in college, she worked at the Kellogg’s factory here in Omaha as a union worker. As a proud union member of Local 251 myself, I was thrilled to have my daughter carry on the family tradition.

I know Alisha will be a fierce advocate for Nebraska because I have seen her work to help folks every day of her life. Her campaign counts on supporters like you to chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can spare right away.
