Dear friends and family,

2021 has been a year of both great accomplishments and setbacks for our community. The Texas legislature doubled down on its racism and xenophobia in so many ways, including the creation of Operation Lone Star, the migrant criminalization program that was featured in Sunday’s New York Times. 

But we are also proud of our victories — working alongside those impacted by Operation Lone Star, stopping Travis County from building an $80 million women’s jail, fighting “Big Brother” surveillance programs, and growing our Mujeres Luchadoras program organizing formerly detained women.
