ICYMI: Kellogg workers have been on strike since early October and the company made the decision to replace 1,400 of these employees rather than striking a union deal. Employees of Kellogg were working 80-hour weeks and these employees kept the plants running through the pandemic. All they asked for was a 3% raise.
Kellogg employees were praised during the pandemic for working 16 hour days, 7 days a week. The founder of Kellogg said “I will invest my money in people”. Now, these people are disposable.
It’s disgusting and shameful that large companies and millionaire CEO’s refuse to take cuts to support their employees. The same employees that kept their factories afloat during Covid-19. Kellogg’s CEO made $11.6 Million in 2020 but decided to cut jobs and benefits.
Now, we must show our support by refusing to buy Kellogg brand food and backing our unions.
Unions help workers break barriers and fight for their necessities. How many times do we have to tell people -- working class citizens are the backbone of our country. It’s time to build back a middle class.
Collective bargaining is a right and corporations should be ashamed of their intimidations to their employees.
We must vow to NEVER cross the picket line. We will never tolerate SCABS— so we will buy generic products and inform our friends and neighbors about what is happening with Kellogg.
Our job is to empower union workers and show our support. We can do this by electing working class candidates who will fight for livable wages and demand adequate healthcare for the people in America working overtime.
We will boycott Kellogg products until their employees receive the justice they deserve. Please join us by refusing to fund a company that cares more about corporate greed than the people who keep it afloat.
