Last week, the Justice Department sued Texas over its proposed plan to redraw voting districts. If passed, the redistricting plan would distinctly disadvantage Black and Latino voters.

Attorney General Merrick Garland stated the plan is a complete violation of the Voting Rights Act - with the potential for other states to pass similar redistricting maps. This is a blatant attempt to dilute minority votes.
