Friend,
New Yorkers were hit hard at the beginning of the pandemic. Working- and middle-class families faced numerous challenges — including financial and economic uncertainty as businesses were forced to close.
To remedy the burden placed on families throughout our state, Mondaire sprang into action and worked with his Democratic colleagues to pass the American Rescue Plan in March.
Mondaire is proud to share that New York is the first state to launch the Homeowner Assistance Fund — a program funded by the American Rescue Plan that will provide up to $539 million to help vulnerable homeowners.
This program will bring life-changing support to so many, especially in lower-income communities, where folks have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
In addition to the Homeowner Assistance Fund — funding was used to safely re-open schools, families received $1,400 survival checks, and vaccination efforts dramatically increased, which has helped to slow down the spread of the virus.
This relief from the American Rescue Plan is only the beginning.
With the Omicron variant circulating and COVID-19 cases surging throughout the country, Mondaire will continue working with his Democratic colleagues to combat COVID-19.
Together, we can combat the virus and do our part by getting vaccinated and boosted to protect ourselves, our families, and our community.
We're grateful for your support,
Team Mondaire
