Hello friends and comrades!

This is your invitation to attend our first in-person meeting in 20 months! We are very excited to see you in person this Saturday at 2pm at Washington Street Community Center, 809 S Washington St. The meeting will also be on Zoom - register for the Zoom call here. To attend in person, please read about our COVID safety protocols and then RSVP here! To keep the air as virus-free as possible, we will be limiting attendance to 50 people, so RSVP now!

In your RSVP, you can indicate if you'd like to receive a free rapid COVID test - please arrive at least 15 minutes early if you want one. We will also be providing KN95 masks for all. We can't wait to see you again!

For now: Sign up here for a 2022-focused one-on-one with the electoral chair! They would love to connect and find out ways to plug folks into our work, debrief 2021, or hear your ideas for 2022! The Abolition WG will be spending the month of December wrapping up 2021 and planning for 2022. Stay tuned for political education reading groups, guest presentations, and more!

Additionally, the Abolition-Zine is on its second edition and is currently looking for 1) submissions of any kind and 2) Someone who would like to help facilitate the process of gathering, editing, and generally coordinating the creation of the zine! No prior experience is necessary and there are several members already working on the zine who are eager to help. All you need is a can-do attitude and the desire to organize! Email [email protected] for more details - or simply pop into the #abolition-zine channel on our slack and type something similar to, "I'd like to help out!"

A huge thanks to everyone who turned out on December 2nd for the Public Hearing on Xcel's Electric Resource Plan! We PACKED the Zoom room! They had to extend the meeting over an hour after the original end time to hear from everyone.

We're keeping the pressure next Friday 12/17 10:30 am with a rally at the Public Utility Commission's office. RSVP for the event and spread the word! You can also organize with us by coming to our next meeting on Monday 12/13 7:00 pm on Zoom or emailing us at [email protected]

๐ŸŒน Housing Justice Committee

The Housing Justice Committee is kicking off phase 2 of NEWR, starting to set up working groups to plan the massive electoral campaign we'll be running in 2022. In the meantime, we'll be working with the East Colfax Community Collective to help set up a rapid-response eviction defense team in their neighborhood, try to expand the reach of their legal clinics to other parts of the city, and help organize tenants to fight for their rights. If you want to get involved please hit us up by email at [email protected] or pop into the next Housing Justice meeting on December 1st!

Our chapter's Steering Committee meets every 2nd and 4th Monday to help guide the chapter at large and promote cohesion between committees and working groups. These meetings are open to all, so please come with any questions or concerns! All members are heavily encouraged to attend steering meetings - which are often a good way to learn about what all parts of the chapter are doing.

We will be holding our flyering action for the Kelloggs Boycott at 5:00 pm at the Capitol Hill King Soopers this Saturday (after the general business meeting).

We're also currently working on strike support and DSA4USPS. We have also formed an emergency workplace organizing subcommittee to take workplace organizing requests from national. More updates to come - a lot going on - get in here!
