It’s clear that the city we love is headed in the wrong direction. As the mother of two children being raised here, I refuse to back down from the challenges that confront us. Since being elected in 2018, I have been an independent voice for common sense in City Hall, advocating for legislation that makes us a safer, more prosperous and more equitable community.

I ask that you give $50, $100, $250 or $500 to my reelection campaign so I can continue to be your voice at City Hall.  <[link removed]>

Earlier this month, I announced The San Francisco Victims Rights Initiative, a measure that will provide direly needed support and services to victims of crime. It will include the creation of the Office of Victim and Witness Rights as well as the Right to Civil Counsel for Victims of Domestic Violence. It should not be complicated for victims to get the help they need when they need it. There are gaps in our system that can be filled to improve services citywide and help the vulnerable manage our complex justice system.

In 2021, crime rates in San Francisco increased while police officer response times decreased. I called for a hearing to better understand the SFPD’s staffing shortages and the efforts they are making to recruit and retain officers so that this drop in service doesn’t become the new normal. I will continue to fight for public safety funding so that our police department can recruit the new officers we desperately need to provide our residents with the public safety services they deserve. Due in part to my efforts, SFPD has enough funds to hire 135 more officers over the next two years.

It has been my honor to serve as your Supervisor for these past three years. I’m proud of what we have accomplished together, but there is still much more work to be done.

I hope you stand with me as I fight for the future of our city.

Sincerely,

Supervisor Catherine Stefani
