   I can’t believe this,
   John:
President Biden is approving new fossil fuel leases at a faster rate than
   Trump. That is unacceptable.
A new analysis from the progressive advocacy group Public Citizen just
revealed that the Biden administration has approved more oil and gas
drilling permits on public lands per month than Donald Trump’s
administration did during the first three years of his presidency.

The Biden Administration may blame this solely on a federal court’s
decision to block a pause on leasing. But we know that President Biden has
been slow to ban new leases on public lands — which he could do with the
stroke of a pen today if he wanted to.
It's up to us to make sure he knows that the climate movement is watching.

Here's the thing: President Biden has shown before that he can be swayed
by pressure from the climate movement. It was the pressure from our
climate movement, along with partners from all over the country, that
pushed him to stop the Keystone XL pipeline.
If we are going to pressure Biden to ban fossil fuel leases for good, we
need to be louder than the oil and gas lobbyists in Washington, D.C. The
more signatures we gather, the louder our call for action will be.

fuel leasing on public lands, please add your name to our petition today.
