"We pledge action, legal or otherwise, any means necessary to stop this dangerous legislation from undermining our elections," party chairman Nick Langworthy said. The bill, if it becomes law, would allow more than 800,000 non-citizen residents to vote, according to the New York Times. "I thought we’d seen it all from Democrats in this state," Langworthy said, calling the push to allow non-citizens to vote "perhaps the worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever." The party chairman said that Democrats have already made New York City a sanctuary city and provided illegal aliens a number of benefits, and that this new bill "was always the next step in the left’s plan to radically transform American for the worse." Langworthy claimed the bill violates the U.S. and New York State Constitutions, stating that voting "is expressly reserved for citizens of the United States of America."

Top New York Republicans pledged Thursday to thwart a City Council proposal that would allow non-citizens to vote in municipal elections, declaring they would take the legislation to court if signed. “We are here today pledging action against perhaps the worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever — that’s giving non-citizens the right to vote in local elections,” state GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy said during a press conference outside City Hall. “We are here to say we pledge action, any means necessary … to stop this dangerous legislation undermining our elections,” he vowed. “We will pursue every legal action to see that this dangerous law is struck down. “Besides being bad policy, it’s unconstitutional, it’s dangerous and un-American.”

The New York Republican Party is vowing legal action against an “unconstitutional” plan by New York City Democrats to allow nearly a million non-citizens to vote in local elections, leaders said on Thursday. During a press conference, New York State Republican Committee Chairman Nick Langworthy revealed that the committee plans to “take any means necessary to stop” a Democrat plan that would give more than 800,000 non-citizens living in New York City the right to vote in local elections. “Inviting non-citizens into voting booths was always the next step in the Left’s plan to radically transform America,” Langworthy said.

The New York City Council votes on this bill TOMORROW.

We need your help to stop it TODAY.

Sincerely,
