Big Oil has spent decades spending billions of dollars spreading anti-science propaganda to distract the public from the climate crisis. Through at least 2018, Exxon's explicit strategy was to fund climate denial campaigns. And even as their strategy has become more subtle, this leak proves that Exxon and Big Oil don't care about the science. They just care about the money.
And when it comes to money, they have a lot of it. But as the American people increasingly feel the impact of the climate crisis in our own backyards, we are going to keep passing legislation and building this movement for bold climate action -- and we are going to win.
