Ron DeSantis just announced he wants millions to reinstate the Florida State Guard.

This “paramilitary force” was disbanded in 1947, and would be at DeSantis’ every beck and call.

Unlike the National Guard, there would be no federal oversight, no federal money, and no federal deployment.

We need to make this very clear: This force would answer only to Governor DeSantis.
