I’ll tell you what I told the rally outside the Supreme Court yesterday—without any hint of equivocation: Every person in this country, no matter who they are or where they live, must have access to abortion.

We all know about the disproportionate impact that abortion bans have on people who already face discriminatory barriers to the care they need: women, Black, Indigenous and other people of color, the LGBTQI+ community, immigrants, young people, people with disabilities, and those working to make ends meet.

The Court’s Republican-appointed supermajority refuses to acknowledge that sinister reality. But we—the 8 in 10 Americans who support the legal right to abortion—know better. We cannot count on them to act with anything but anti-choice extremism as their motivation.
