John, I promise this email is NOT asking you for money.

I just wanted to give a personal shoutout to everybody who came through for us and stepped up to the plate these last few days to help us hit our end-of-month goal. 

A few things always start to happen around Thanksgiving time until the end of every calendar year:

The general election is over, and the public is feeling disengaged from politics. People are either exhausted from scoring victories or discouraged from disappointing losses. 
Hundreds of campaigns and organizations are trying to hit their fundraising benchmarks by the end of the year, and everyone is competing for donors' attention.
Online fundraising numbers drop overall. Understandably, people are spending money on holiday shopping, are busy with family activities, or are taking some much-needed vacation away from their computers. 
New candidates are popping up in crowded races across the country, and competition is heating up, especially as we enter 2022, which means the pressure is turning way up for candidates to engage with voters on time before Election Day. 
For all of these reasons, your grassroots support and generous donations are more critical than ever. That's why I had to reach out to say thanks. 

Thanks for taking action, thanks for not losing hope, thanks for fighting back against GQP extremists, and thanks for being a part of this team.
