John, before I ask you to pitch in to our Senate Fund to help us hit our critical end-of-month goal by tonight's urgent deadline, I want to first remind you that today is Giving Tuesday.

Most importantly today, I encourage you to find a nonprofit or community service cause that you care about and make a contribution. A contribution can be anything -- giving money, volunteering your time, or donating supplies. It's a day to do something for the greater good of society.

I also know that the holidays can be a tough time financially for many people. After Thanksgiving, gift shopping season is in full swing with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

So when I say "only if you can" in my ask below, I really mean it.
