Why our Giving Tuesday goal is so important

Did you get a chance to read Kelly’s message yesterday? We set a powerfully important goal to raise $5,000 this Giving Tuesday to fuel our 2022 efforts.

Why is this goal so important? When most folks think about the 2022 midterms, they’re probably most concerned with which party is taking hold of the majority in Congress. We on the other hand, will be keeping our heads down and doing what we do best — fighting in states across the country to pass progressive change for millions of Americans via the ballot box.

We’ll be frank — when elected officials and politicians refuse to act in the interests of their constituents, our government isn’t really working for the people. 

Ballot measures empower voters to take the power back into their own hands. By mobilizing hundreds of thousands of voters in states across the country, we’ve been able to pass some pretty incredible policies that benefit working people in America.

And next year is no different. We’ll be fighting to pass ballot measures around the country that expand Medicaid, raise the minimum wage, provide paid leave, end the predatory practices of payday lenders, and defend democratic institutions.
