Never Again

John,

On this day in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered the famous Gettysburg Address during the dedication of the Soldiers National Cemetery.

At the time, our nation was facing an unprecedented crisis. We were in the midst of a deadly Civil War that tested whether our country and our democracy "could long endure." Lincoln's words that day proved he was the leader our country needed to get through this difficult time.

But just last year, our country faced another devastating crisis as the COVID-19 pandemic began to sweep the nation and claim the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans. Take a look at how differently Donald Trump handled tragedy:

Gettysburg address vs Trump statement

Both Trump and Lincoln were our nation's leaders during times of unprecedented crisis. Both saw hundreds of thousands of Americans die during their presidency -- with COVID-19 deaths officially surpassing the 750,000 killed during the Civil War. Yet while Lincoln delivered one of the most stirring speeches in honor of the lives lost, Trump simply said "It is what it is."

That's not real leadership.

We're working to ensure Trump -- or any of his cronies -- never lead our country again. Will you chip in $5 or more right away to help us?

Thanks,
