ANNOUNCEMENT

TODAY is the Inaugural

“World Day for Prevention, Healing and Justice

to End Sexual Violence Against Children and Adolescents”

Today, November 18^th, child sexual abuse prevention advocates, survivors
and allies around the world are mobilizing to raise awareness and take
action to prevent child sexual exploitation and abuse and bring healing and
justice to survivors. Goals of this global mobilization are to:
* Acknowledge the magnitude of the global crisis of child and adolescent
sexual abuse;
* Call for systemic change in communities, countries, and globally to
address the crisis;
* Call for long-term, sustained funding for organizations focused on
prevention, healing, and justice;
* Unite organizations and advocates across disciplines, promote
partnerships and share resources for full scale implementation of programs
and policies to safeguard children everywhere;
* Ensure that survivor voices and experiences are included in governing
and decision-making bodies.

Stakeholders in over 60 countries, including the [1]47 countries of the
European Council, Bolivia, Canada, India, Kenya, Nepal, USA, and many other
countries, cities, and communities are joining forces to kick off global
support of the #EndChildSexAbuseDay #Nov18WorldDay.

MassKids World Day of Action

Today, MassKids is releasing its latest version of our report, “A Call to
Action for Policymakers and Advocates” that includes the progress of
additional states over the past six months to pass Child Sexual Abuse
Prevention Legislation. Summaries of each state's efforts to enact five
different prevention laws are included. [2]Click here to download.

Today, we also release the recordings of our 3 National Webinars, held
earlier this month to discuss the “Call to Action” report and its specific
recommendations on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Education in Schools and
the Screening of School Applicants to Prevent Sexual Misconduct and Abuse.
Over 80 advocates from 25 states registered for the webinars and several
have pledged to begin efforts to introduce new prevention legislation or
work to amend current laws that lack recommended provisions.

As a companion to the webinars, today MassKids issues “21 Strategies to
Pass Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Legislation in Your State”, a technical
assistance guide for states. You can watch the webinar recordings now, and
access our “21 Strategies” resource, linked on [3]www.enoughabuse.org.

Enough Abuse Campaigns in West Africa Celebrate World Day

Suburban Healthcare Initiative, lead agency for Enough Abuse Nigeria,
conducts collaborative activities with the Lagos State Ministry of
Education under their Private Public Partnership.

Today, they convene a Press Conference with simultaneous training events
for teachers in multiple private and public schools in the states of Lagos,
Shagamu, Abuja and Abeokuta to mark the CSA Prevention Day. At noon today,
all participants will celebrate the day wearing their EAC Nigeria T-shirts.

Today, [4]Enough Abuse Sierra Leone will deliver an all-day training on
child sexual abuse prevention for 75 leaders from 5 vulnerable
communities/villages in the Tonkolili District, including local chiefs,
police officers, women, youth and student leaders, teachers, imams, pastors
and others. Trainers will use the Enough Abuse Training curriculum and
materials specifically adapted by MassKids for West African countries.

The[5] [6]Keep Kids Safe[7] [8]National Policy Blueprint is released today
in honor of World Day. The Blueprint lays out an agenda for bold action to
bring prevention, healing, and justice to scale in the USA and to ramp up
investment in global programs. The Blueprint includes key national
recommendations from MassKids’ “Call to Action” report released in June.
