We are proud to announce that Mari was named a finalist in the NewDEAL Ideas Challenge! The New DEAL is a national organization that counts among its ranks some strong leaders like Senator Gary Peters (MI), Former Governor Martin O’Malley (MD), and Senator Cory Booker (NJ).  New DEAL’s competition highlights innovative policy solutions from elected leaders across the country. 

 

Mari’s idea is straightforward, and tackles one of the biggest issues facing Michigan: Climate Change. Her idea would streamline state purchases to reduce our carbon footprint, save Michiganders money and ensure new building projects, state building renovations and state vehicle purchases are green, energy efficient and electric.
