First, President Biden signed the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. It’s the biggest investment in our bridges, roads, ports, railroads, and broadband access in decades.

Second, millions of families received their fifth expanded Child Tax Credit monthly payment of up to $300 per child thanks to Democrats’ American Rescue Plan Act, which Mitch McConnell boasted "not a single member of my party voted for."

I’m proud the infrastructure bill was a bipartisan achievement. But Senate Republicans are still standing in lockstep against passing the Build Back Better Act and making the expanded Child Tax Credit permanent, investing in universal pre-K, lowering prescription drug costs, and investing in the clean energy economy to stop the worst of the climate crisis.

Thanks to the Democratic Senate majority you helped elect, I’m confident we can pass the transformative Build Back Better Act and move President Biden’s agenda forward.
