Team,

We're just over a year out from Election Day 2020, and all signs are pointing to it being a big day for the country.

Here in Texas, the secret is out: The Lone Star state is shaping up to be a major political battleground in 2020. But you and I both know that we didn't get here overnight:

When we launched Battleground Texas in 2013, people told us we were naive and overly optimistic. But we kept our heads down and got to work -- supporting inspiring Democratic candidates, training organizers, and registering voters.

In 2018, the ground started to shift: We picked up 12 state legislative seats, flipped two critical congressional districts, and came within striking distance of defeating Ted Cruz.

But we can't settle for close this year. Republicans are doubling down on policies that will hurt Texans -- blocking gun violence legislation, limiting legal immigration protections, suppressing the vote, and more. There's a lot at stake.

If we're going to make Democrats competitive in places that seemed unwinnable just a few years ago, and lift up as many voices as possible, then we need to go further than ever before.

Some folks are doubting us once again -- it's our job to prove them wrong. Your contributions support the training and staff we need to accomplish our goals. Can you chip in $20, or whatever you can, today to help us live up to our mission, and make 2020 a true battleground year for Texas?

Game on,
