Team, we have an important update. As of this week, it looks like two of our Virginia House of Delegates races are within very close margins and may be headed to recounts. Delegate Martha Mugler and Delegate Alex Askew need your help -- will you pitch in to help fund these critical recount efforts?
Right now, Republicans hold a 52-48 majority in the House of Delegates. Should these recounts find a victory for Del. Mugler and Del. Askew, the balance would be 50-50. In other words, funding these recounts and making sure every vote is counted could decide the balance of power in our Commonwealth.
We know exactly what the GOP wants to do with their majority -- roll back the progress we’ve made on things like voting rights, gun violence prevention, and equality for all. But these elections are not over yet. We need to make sure every single ballot that was cast last week is counted -- because all Virginians deserve to be heard.
Making sure every vote is counted is central to a functioning democracy. Thank you for standing up for Virginia voters.
