Friend --

I was honored to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow these last few days. Now, I wanted to report back to you on my experience there.

My biggest takeaway is that Washington state continues to lead the charge to address the climate crisis, but we are not alone. At COP26, I led a coalition of 68 state, regional, and city governments committed to halving emissions by 2030 and getting to net-zero by mid-century.

What we do in these next five years will determine the fate of our species. The stakes couldn't be higher. So I was proud to stand with this coalition representing 470 million people committed to taking aggressive action together.

Will you stand with us? Chip in $10 right now, so we can strengthen the movement to meet this make-or-break moment with imagination and optimism.

It is nearly impossible to overstate the depth of the crisis we're facing. It's a looming disaster movie come-to-life, and we are beginning to see previews of it as we watch our forests burn, and witness countless cities devastated by floods and historic heatwaves.

At this point, our nation must pick up the mantle and lead the world in creating an innovative, transformative clean-energy economy -- or risk being left behind. But regardless of what happens in the other Washington, Washington State will continue to be bold while fighting this growing crisis.

I was proud to announce over the weekend that Washington public fleets will soon be fully electrified. Additionally, I joined leaders from the Pacific Coast Collaborative to launch the Low Carbon Construction Task Force, which will create good jobs while fighting climate change.

While we certainly have left work to do, I am leaving Glasgow feeling heartened and inspired. We're in this together, and I know that together we will meet this moment.

Chip in $10 today, so we can continue to power our fight for climate action together.

Very truly yours,

Jay
