Today is Veteran’s Day, which felt like the perfect day to officially announce our endorsement of Jessica Mason for Congress in Texas’ 30th District!

Jessica Mason is a veteran who served for 5 years in the Navy as a medic and mental health counselor, witnessing all the tolls of war. Her husband is also on active duty. Jessica was born and raised in Dallas and is the strong progressive that Texas 30th Congressional District needs.

From growing up in poverty to enlisting in the military so that she could complete her degree, Jessica knows first-hand what it means to be from a community that was set up to fail by design due to socioeconomic barriers.

Unlike many of the veterans in politics who come from affluent backgrounds, Jessica reflects the underrepresented majority of service members who are poor and working-class. She gives a critical voice to those of our veterans who enlisted in the military out of economic necessity and return home only to be neglected by our failing VA system.

Jessica has dedicated her life to her community and to public service. After her time in the military, Jessica obtained her Master’s of Public Administration while working as a legislative aide in the Virginia State Legislature. Since then, she has been working as an affordable housing administrator and anti-poverty activist, while volunteering year-round.

Now, Jessica Mason is running for Congress because, as a true Daughter of Dallas, this fight is deeply personal to her. She’s tired of seeing her friends, her family, and her neighbors hurting.

When she makes it to Congress, Jessica will fight for progressive causes like investments in our schools, universal healthcare, reproductive freedom, criminal justice reform, affordable housing solutions, labor union rights, climate justice, and economic equality.

Jessica is running a grassroots campaign that rejects corporate PAC money because she refuses to let corporate greed influence her like it has for far too many corrupt politicians.

We are so proud to endorse Jessica Mason as a Barrier To Entry candidate and to throw our full support behind her.
