It feels like hardly a day goes by without a new revelation of corruption and abuse of power or another example of dangerous rhetoric in our newsfeeds. What we are experiencing right now—this moment that all of us are in—is a deliberate political strategy of fear and hate. As people of faith, we need to stand up to this violence and all institutions and forces that encourage it.

Our resistance must go beyond prophetic utterances and symbolic actions—it must include a strategy to block those practices and policies and turn public opinion against them. And in order for us to develop this strategy for peace and against violence, we need you to sustain our voice of resistance.

Over the past three years, Sojourners has ramped up its efforts to support faith communities in their efforts to stand against this hateful and violent rhetoric—with resources such as 100 Sermons on Domestic Violence, our Matthew 25 toolkits, protecting voting rights with Lawyers and Collars, reporting and commentary in Sojourners publications on issues such as the refugee crisis on the U.S. border, and even more resources on our SojoAction platform, coming soon.
