Dear John,
1 million plant and animal species are on the brink of extinction.
That alarming statistic comes from a recent UN report, which paints a bleak
picture of declining biodiversity linked to humans exploiting our environment.
From gray wolves to sea turtles to the iconic bald eagle, endangered wildlife is
at risk of being wiped out. At Friends of the Earth, we’re not going to let
these species and the ecosystems they depend on disappear forever. But we need
your help to save them before it’s too late!
Help stop 1 million plant and animal species from going extinct: Donate $10 or

With Trump in the White House, endangered wildlife is facing an uphill battle to
recovery. His administration is committed to the Trump Extinction Plan --
rolling back bedrock Endangered Species Act protections for our environment and
wildlife every chance they get.
Trump wants to clear the way for Big Oil and Gas projects. He’s trying to make
it easier to remove vulnerable species from the list and harder to protect more
species from climate change. These changes would surely lead to more fossil fuel
projects where endangered species live -- like the Keystone XL pipeline, which
threatens the whooping crane.
The good news is, Congress is fighting back. Recently, legislators introduced a
new bill to repeal Trump’s Extinction Plan -- “The PAW and FIN Conservation
Act.” This is the legislation we need to protect our wildlife.
Together, we can build support for this bill and stop Trump’s attacks on
endangered species. The problem is, our Representatives are facing pressure from
Donald Trump and Big Oil cronies to do nothing. That’s why it’s so important
that you join us in fighting back. It’s going to take every one of us acting NOW
if we want to save polar bears, sea turtles, bald eagles and more.
Help stop Trump from gutting Endangered Species Act protections: Donate $10 or
more before it’s too late!

We’re going up against huge corporations and their powerful friends in the Trump
administration -- a daunting task. But with Friends of the Earth members like
you at our side, I know we can win this fight and save endangered wildlife.
We have a comprehensive plan to stem the attacks on the Endangered Species Act:
* This summer, nearly 10,000 Friends of the Earth Members like you signed up to
deliver letters to Congressional offices demanding your Representatives stand
up to Trump’s Extinction Plan. The pressure is working -- the PAW and FIN Act
shows that Congress is starting to act.
* We’re mobilizing to add new insect species like the Mojave Poppy Bee and the
Franklin’s Bumble Bee to the Endangered Species List. Insects are essential
to our food system, and these bees pollinate endangered plant species as
well. Scientists are warning that if we don’t stem insect declines, we could
face a “catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems.” So we’re pulling out
all the stops -- sending over 50,000 comments to the Fish and Wildlife
Service -- to protect these nearly-extinct bees.
* Our legal team and organizers across the country are working to stop fossil
fuel projects like the Keystone XL Pipeline, which put endangered species at
risk. If we can stop Big Oil drilling projects from cutting through
endangered wildlife habitat, we can simultaneously prevent these species from
going extinct and make progress toward phasing out fossil fuels.
Since it was first passed in 1973, the Endangered Species Act has been one of
our most effective environmental laws. It has prevented the extinction of 291
species -- a 99% success rate.
But Trump doesn’t care about helping our environment, wildlife, or communities
around the country who depend on healthy ecosystems. So we’ve got to act fast
before the UN’s alarming projection of a million species disappearing becomes
reality.
Make a generous contribution today and help Friends of the Earth stop Trump’s
attacks on the Endangered Species Act!
