District of Columbia Indivisibles,
After Senate Republicans repeatedly filibustered significant structural
democracy reforms from passage this year, Democrats released the Freedom
to Vote Act, a transformative democracy reform bill that builds on the For
the People Act and brings us closer to passing critical voting rights and
fair redistricting provisions this Congress. But we cannot risk more
delays -- we need the Senate to deliver for the American people NOW,
before we run out of time this year.
[ [link removed] ]That’s why we are taking part in the #TimeToAct Week of Action all this
week with the Declaration For American Democracy (DFAD) to urge the Senate
to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. While senators are home for recess,
activists across the country will participate in rallies, marches, and
press events to call on the Senate to act swiftly to pass robust national
standards for federal elections, and to use every lever of power and
influence to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. Ready to join in? Here’s how to
   take action:
    1. [ [link removed] ]First -- Click here to find your local #TimeToAct event on the
national map, and be sure to RSVP now. Not seeing an event near you,
or can’t make the one listed? Gather a group of friends and neighbors
and consider organizing your own event -- you’ll find everything you
need to start planning in [ [link removed] ]our comprehensive event toolkit here, and
then [ [link removed] ]register your event on the national map so others can join in.
If you need some inspiration, check out these recent events
Indivisibles organized in [ [link removed] ]Massachusetts, [ [link removed] ]California,
[ [link removed] ]Delaware, [ [link removed] ]New York and [ [link removed] ]Pennsylvania!
    2. [ [link removed] ]Then -- make sure to call your senators today and every day this
week, so they know we’re as dedicated as ever to passing legislation
to save our democracy and our right to vote.
This is a national issue, and every state matters. If you have a
Democratic Senator who already supports the Freedom to Vote Act, ask them
to make statements, talk to their colleagues and push the bill through.
And if you have a Republican Senator, your voice still matters! Red states
have faced the brunt of the regressive bills to limit access to the polls,
and the best thing you can do is draw attention to these undemocratic
   policies and your electeds' actions.
Senate Leader Schumer has said time and again this year that, when it
comes to passing democracy reform, “failure is not an option.” [ [link removed] ]Join us
this week and let’s go all in to make sure we get it done.
   In solidarity,
   Indivisible Team
