There aren’t enough members of the Senate for whom policy is personal. Just listen to the latest from Joe Manchin, who opposes paid family leave and Medicare expansion.

Congress is full of millionaires who don’t understand the struggles of working-class Americans, such as living paycheck to paycheck or going without health insurance.

We must expand our Democratic majority in the Senate by electing bold, progressive leaders across the country whose lives would actually be affected by the policies they enact.

That’s why I’m proud to officially endorse Mandela Barnes for the U.S. Senate.

Mandela is running to unseat Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, who has continually spread misinformation about COVID-19, denied the legitimacy of the 2020 election results, and defended the violent mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol — just to name a few of his deplorable actions.

As the first Black Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, Mandela has worked tirelessly for Wisconsinites and shown what’s possible when our elected officials are willing to fight for working families.

Now, Mandela is ready to bring his passion for progressive change to the Senate. I believe that Mandela is the strongest Democratic candidate to run against Ron Johnson — but it’s going to be a tough race with Republicans already raising huge sums to hold on to this seat.

The race is heating up and there is no time to waste. Will you split a contribution between Mandela Barnes’ campaign in Wisconsin and my re-election campaign? We have to work together to protect our Democratic majority in Congress.
