This morning, Jessica was quoted by the New York Times (see link below) saying she disagrees with the proposal to ban fusion voting put forward by New York State Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacob. I do not need to tell you this, the proposal to make it harder for third parties to qualify for state elections will jeopardize our collective voice!

Fusion voting is responsible for bringing third-party ideas such as abolition and women’s suffrage to the forefront of political conversations. The biggest legislative advancements we have made were only possible by breaking through legislative bottlenecks.
Let me be clear, our progressive accomplishments and historic gains made over the years were not given to us by machine politics. They were hard fought through your activism, commitment, and small donations.
We will never stop fighting for a better democracy - we are in this fight for the long haul. We will continue making our voices heard in Albany, because an equal and just society simply cannot wait.
