Team,

I consider myself a very optimistic person, but even I can admit last night’s election results were bad. We lost in Virginia, a state we carried by 10 points last year—and in New Jersey results are way too close for comfort.

We’re getting a sneak preview of what could happen next November if we don’t start preparing RIGHT NOW. Republicans will try to replicate these results next November.

We know what we’re up against, and we know how important next year’s midterms are to the future of our country and democracy. It’s on us to start organizing today, or we risk losing the House and Senate.

Team, will you pitch in $25 or anything you can to help us elect more progressive Democratic candidates across the country in 2022? Your support is crucial to ensuring nights like yesterday’s are an exception, and not the rule. [[link removed]]

While the races in Virginia and New Jersey left me disappointed, there were some victories, too. In Austin, voters defeated a right-wing ballot measure to increase the already-large police force. In Boston, progressive candidate Michelle Wu was elected to become Mayor.

These victories show that we can win these elections with the right candidates and the right message. That’s why it’s important we get started as early as possible, and why we need folks like you who also believe in the promise of America to be on our side.

So please, if you can, donate $25 or any amount you can spare to ensure next year’s midterms are nothing like last night’s results. We can do it together. [[link removed]]

Thanks again,

Julián
