Team-
Tomorrow is the day we have been working towards. Ever since we started the primaries back in January, all of that has built up to right now.
Now it may say Glenn Youngkin on the ballot tomorrow, but we are fighting against a few more things than that: the neofascism and misinformation of the new Republican party and the complacency, apathy, and exhaustion of our own.
The side that’s looking to drag us decades backward or the side that just wants to catch their god damn breath for once
And it’s on us to let the people know they have 2 choices on Tuesday:
- The Party that wants to ban books or the Party that believes that history should be taught with facts.
- The Party that wouldn’t vaccinate the population or the Party that believes public health is important and that healthcare is a right and not a privilege.
- The Party that believes that the most pressing issue is what wealthy parents think should be taught in classrooms or the Party that just wants to get kids in there and pay teachers what they are worth.
I know what that poll said on Thursday. And I don’t know about y’all but I like to get my news from actual news sources and not entertainment channels like Fox News. We cannot afford to be discouraged by that.
We cannot afford that. We cannot afford to wake up and realize that we have regressed decades backwards. We cannot afford to go back.
The teacher who commutes 2 hours one way can’t afford that. The construction worker who is currently being misclassified as an independent contractor can’t afford that. The trans student sitting in her classroom wondering why other students’ parents are more concerned about where she goes to the bathroom than why there aren’t enough books on the shelves cannot afford that.
This is our opportunity to deliver for all of those people because we cannot go backwards. We can only go forwards and the only Poll that matters is on Tuesday.
So get out and vote if you haven't already. Get your friends to vote. Get your family to vote. Get your neighbors to vote. Get your neighbor's friends to vote. Every single vote counts.
Racial Justice is on the ballot. Social Justice is on the Ballot. Environmental Justice is on the Ballot. Economic Justice is on the ballot. So let’s get out and win who’s with me?
Until Justice,
Matt Royer
Co-Chair
