| Fellow patriot, I’m Shawn Collins – a proud black conservative Republican, Navy combat veteran, and active Navy reservist running for Congress in California’s 45th District. I’m running against liberal Congresswoman Katie Porter – a self-proclaimed socialist who hangs out with the squad and co-chaired Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign. But first, I want to tell you about my service in the Navy... After I graduated from law school, I answered the call to serve my country and enlisted in the United States Navy.  Just one year after my wife Zeina and I got married, I volunteered for a combat deployment to Afghanistan.  While stationed near Kandahar City, Afghanistan – the birthplace of the Taliban – I coordinated with Special Forces units to help them track down and arrest suspected terrorist suicide bombers. Our work saved countless lives.  But wearing the American flag on my sleeve made me a target, and I was fortunate to survive two suicide bombing attacks.  Now, everything I and thousands of other soldiers fought for – and even died for – in Afghanistan has been undone by Biden’s failed military withdrawal. This failure has left Americans and our allies stranded, left our weaponry and supplies in the hands of the Taliban, and resulted in more deaths of innocent civilians – including woman and children – along with American troops. Yet Biden, my opponent Katie Porter, and the Democrats have moved on and are seemingly ignoring what happened and what is still happening. This failure, combined with the lack of security at our southern border which would permit even terrorists to cross unnoticed, means America is less safe than it was a year ago. There’s absolutely no doubt – American needs new leadership, and I’m running for Congress to give it to us. But I need your help. The Left knows that a black, conservative, Navy veteran with Afghanistan combat experience who is focused on real solutions is exactly the kind of candidate who can defeat them in this current climate, which is why they’re already targeting me. I’m running for Congress to keep America safe by securing our border and supporting our military and law enforcement.
