In 2010, I was supposed to lose, you know.

It was the first midterm since the election of Barack Obama, America was pulling itself out of a recession, and the pundits all said Republicans were predestined to flip the Senate red.

And me? I was the Democratic Senate Majority Leader in swing state Nevada. I had a giant target on my back.

But we ran a disciplined people-powered campaign -- and we kept Nevada blue.

Now the pundits are saying there are echoes of 2010 and my friend Governor Steve Sisolak has a giant target on his back. I know Steve is running a campaign to keep Nevada blue, but he needs your help to hit his end-of-month goal -- will you rush a donation immediately?

Look, there are some similarities between 2010. And that’s why I know Steve can win:

-- Republicans are hellbent on nominating a rightwing extremist (and there’s a clown car of crazies running right now)

-- From expanding health care to investing in workers, Steve Sisolak is focused on making people’s lives better (and he won’t get distracted by the GOP nonsense)

-- Steve is running a grassroots campaign -- powered by people like you!

And running a people-powered campaign means Steve needs good Democrats like you to chip in to meet his fundraising goals.
