Team —

When Congress fails to act in the best interests of working people across America, we employ ballot measure campaigns to get the job done.

Just this week, Democrats cut paid family leave from the Build Back Better spending package in order to get the whole party on board. Without this national paid family leave policy, the U.S. will continue to be just one of six countries without any form of national policy and one of eight without national maternity leave.

The Build Back Better package is not a unique circumstance. In these hyper-partisan times, petty politics and gridlock have stopped meaningful legislation from being passed no matter the Administration. That’s why ballot measures are such an important part of our democracy.

When Congress can’t act, ballot measures have allowed voters to take the power back into their own hands. We’ve won 20 of the 21 ballot measure campaigns we’ve worked on, can you rush a donation before tomorrow’s fundraising deadline to help us win more campaigns and keep fighting for working people in America?

We know how important paid leave policies are to American families. Nearly one in four private-sector workers, half of Latinx workers and 38 percent of Black workers don’t have access to paid sick leave, putting their jobs and livelihoods at risk whenever an illness strikes.

That’s why we fought alongside voters in Colorado to put the first-ever paid family and medical leave measure on the ballot, and it’s why we led the way in 2016 and 2018 with important paid sick leave wins in Washington, Arizona, Michigan, and San Antonio.

Team: Can you rush a donation right now to help us hit our $3,500 goal before Sunday at midnight and win more critical ballot measure campaigns to keep fighting for working people in states across the country?
