Yesterday, after weeks of negotiations with Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, President Biden unveiled legislative text for his $1.75 trillion Build Back Better Act. It contains universal child care, planet-saving climate action, Medicare expansion, historic investments in affordable housing, an extension of the expanded Child Tax Credit (which has cut child poverty in half), and so much more.

This is a major victory for the American people, made possible by progressives in Congress like Mondaire who insisted upon passing the larger Build Back Better Act along with the bipartisan infrastructure bill. Working alongside his progressive colleagues, Mondaire fought tirelessly to get Manchin and Sinema to the negotiating table to demand that these provisions be included in the final bill.
