Look, I’ll start with some good news -- Virginians have come out strong during early voting, and it looks like Terry will go into Election Day with a lead.

But there’s bad news, too: New polls show Glenn Youngkin surging in the race. Here’s a recent poll from Emerson College showing him tied with Terry McAuliffe.

That’s simply too close for comfort, folks -- and it’s way too close for complacency.

The fact is, we always knew the race for Governor was going to come down to the wire, because Democrats historically have a hard time in Virginia after winning presidential elections. But with Youngkin spending extravagant sums of money on misleading ads designed to divide Virginians and move us in the wrong direction, we need to help Terry fight back with everything we’ve got.

Terry’s team has set a goal of raising $2 million on or before midnight on Sunday, October 31st. And if we’re going to keep Virginia moving forward, now is the time for all of us to pitch in. We know what Glenn Youngkin would do as Governor of Virginia. We’ve seen it in Georgia, Texas, and other Republican-led states across the country where voting rights are being dismantled, abortion access is being thrown out the window, and the COVID pandemic is being ignored, or worse, denied.

I don’t want us to wake up next week and wish we’d done more. Now’s the time to fight -- let’s help them hit this goal.
