In a moment, we're going to ask you to chip in to help us hit our end-of-month fundraising goal, but first we wanted to explain why our work is so important and share a side to the January 6 attack that we feel isn't talked about enough.
We all know how devastating Trump's Big Lie and the events of January 6 have been for our nation's democracy, and how ever since, our democracy has remained at risk. But today we want to talk about the people who were in the Capitol during the insurrection and the painful impact it has left on them.
From members of Congress to aides to police officers, hundreds of lives were changed on January 6. Here are a few quotes from the people who were in the Capitol on that day:

This is why we're doing the work. Not only to protect our democracy, but to get justice for those who were injured, killed, or traumatized by the violent attack. We're fighting to hold the parties responsible for January 6 accountable, and ensure the members of Congress who attacked our democracy are voted out of office -- but we need your help.
