We're just over a year away from Election Day 2020, and things are heating up. People are volunteering and donating to campaigns -- and Texas is getting more attention from the press and national parties than it has in decades.

2020 will be a big year for Texas, one we've been working for -- but you and I know that this election is not the one and only thing that matters.

Familia, when all of the press vans and high-dollar donors go home at the end of next year, we'll still be right here, organizing our communities and laying the groundwork for the next election. We can't take a break during the so-called "off years", because we know that it takes more than one big moment to change the political landscape in Texas.

Instead, we're working to break down the systems that have stood in the way of Texas becoming a battleground state. For six years now we've fought voter suppression, trained hundreds of organizers, and registered thousands of voters across the state -- in fact, we've registered over 195,000 voters in Texas since we started. And I'm so proud of how far we've come. It's this work, your work, that made it possible for Texas to be considered highly competitive in the next election.

So while you contribute your time and money to candidates you're passionate about, I ask that you do the same for Battleground Texas. Can you chip in to help us make sure Texas becomes a battleground state, and stays that way?
