"The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith."
- President Franklin D Roosevelt, prepared for April 13, 1945
What is it about America that Republicans do not believe in?
If you believe in something, love something, and value something, you will do whatever it takes to ensure you help it grow, evolve, nourish, and prosper. I am writing to you because I love America.
I love everything about this country, and while I recognize it has its flaws, I know in my heart that if we stick together and we put in the work, there is nothing we can't overcome. We are at an impasse right now, and putting it mildly, our country needs some updating -- we need major infrastructure reform and investment. This country is our home, and how foolish is it from both Republicans and Democrats alike to not want to invest in our country?
We are talking about fixing roads, bridges, tunnels and making them safe for our children. We are talking about opening hospitals in rural and urban areas alike that desperately need them. High-speed internet for our children, so they can do their homework and keep up with the demands of their generation. Universal Pre-K, so that working families have one less expense to worry about as they try and raise their family in these tough times. These are not radical ideas or proposals; they are wildly popular amongst all Americans.
I know everyone is upset that things are not getting passed fast enough, but we must remember that this life-changing legislation is worth the fight. We won't get everything we want, but we will keep fighting in the campaigns and elections to come.
You see, Republicans will always be on the side of the wealthy and the corporations they swear to protect. Meanwhile, Democrats stand with you, the people. That is the distinction between the two parties in 2021.
I will ask you -- what is the vision that you see for America? Do you believe in her as I do?
Sappers Clear the Way, Airborne All the Way,
