   When you think about it,
   $5
may not seem like a lot of money. But when people all over the world
   donate
   $5,
we can send climate activists to Glasgow to coordinate an unforgettable
global mobilization at the United Nations Climate Change Conference
(COP26) for the most important climate summit of the year, and to ensure
that climate justice is at the centre of the negotiations.
I want to share how your
   $5
contribution will support climate activists across the Pacific, Latin
America, Africa, and Asia — and help build a powerful climate movement —
but before I do, [ [link removed] ]if you can make a
   $5
contribution today, your support will help us expose to the fossil fuel
industry and the politicians they bankroll on a global stage.
   John, the
cost of travel and housing in Glasgow will make your eyes water. For the
majority of people in the world, it is prohibitively expensive. But we
know that our physical presence will send an unmistakable message to the
fossil fuel lobbyists who will be roaming the halls of COP26 in their
   $2,000 suits.
It's critical that our global presence at COP26 is represented by the
people who are on the frontlines of the climate crisis. That is why we are
supporting groups like the Pacific Climate Warriors to attend COP26.
Together, we will mobilise the Pacific Climate Warriors network for a
global week of actions and aim to collect 10,000 signatures to support the
declaration. We will amplify the demands in the declaration and strengthen
   the support for Pacific leadership.
But not everyone is going to be able to attend the climate
   conference, John. So we're
supporting climate and movement leaders around the globe who will also be
holding solidarity actions organised to expose the corruption of the
fossil fuel industry. It's going to be huge.
Today we are asking you to make a
   $5
contribution to help support climate activists turn COP26 into an
unprecedented moment for our climate movement:
[ [link removed] ]Can you please make a
   $5
contribution today to help support climate activists and movement leaders
around the globe participate in COP26? We'll put your donation right to
work securing resources for these activists and building a global climate
   movement.
Here's a bit of a sneak peak at what your
   $5
will also support around the globe:
     * Africa: From actions calling for the cancellation of coal projects to
street art and Twitter actions calling for massive energy transitions,
climate activists across Africa are standing up to the fossil fuel
       industry.
     * Europe: Grassroots organisers are leading actions in several of the
world’s biggest financial centres. These actions will put the
spotlight on fossil fuel finance in the run-up to COP, exposing the
hypocrisy of European nations who present themselves as climate
leaders, while they're still home to some of the world’s most
       destructive banks.
     * United States: Ahead of the pivotal global climate convening COP26 in
Glasgow, organizers around the United States are gathering in person
and virtually to demand the Federal Reserve account for climate risk,
and bring our vision for a Fossil Free Federal Reserve straight to
       financial decision-makers.
     * Asia: Youth organizers around Asia are leading actions, both digital
and in-person, all over the continent.
     * Turkey: We will use the momentum from Turkey's recent ratification of
the Paris Agreement to demand a phase-out plan from the government.
     * Latin America: Indigenous peoples and environmentalists will join
forces to challenge the greenwashing narrative of the financial
       sector.
At 350, our aim is to make climate activism as global as possible because
the climate crisis is a global issue and requires a global response. That
means ensuring frontline communities and climate leaders have equal access
to attending major climate conferences like COP26. And for those who
cannot attend, we'll help make their mobilizations as effective as
   possible.
So thank you for your support today. It means a lot to me and to all of us
   here at 350.
   In solidarity,
   Monica Hollander
   Finance Director
