Hi there --

We just wanted to make sure you saw our campaign that launched yesterday, Main Street Against Big Tech.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working tirelessly to pull together this one-of-a-kind campaign to elevate the voices of those harmed by Big Tech. We spoke to dozens of small business owners from all across the country. They overwhelmingly felt cheated by Facebook, Google, and Amazon, who claim to be a lifeline for small businesses.

As I told TechCrunch, “The [campaign] really underscores the litany of Big Tech’s harms to which these small business owners are subject — from misleading and unreliable data, to hidden costs and sudden changes to rules or algorithms that can kneecap their entire company without any access to customer service...Each entrepreneur has their own story and reason for speaking out.”

It was so much fun to produce these videos and capture these unique stories of small business owners across the country. Here’s a behind the scenes look at our filming of David Guernsey, who owns an office supply company in Virginia:

But these productions cost our team time and money. Chip in to help us continue this work of capturing and uplifting these stories to take on Big Tech’s false narrative and self-serving mischaracterization of how they support small business.

This campaign is the type of thing that keeps Mark Zuckerberg up at night. Big Tech loves to hold up small business as an argument against regulation and accountability, but we know that’s patently untrue.

Although this campaign has been expensive, we believe it’s necessary to strike down the core argument Big Tech uses to scare lawmakers away from taking action.

Right now, we have 6 other other small business owners we would like to interview and include in this campaign—but we don’t have the funding for the staff and equipment we need to produce more videos. With your support, we can continue this campaign and interview more small business owners to take on Big Tech.

Thanks for your support,

Jesse
