Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 36 | October 23rd, 2021 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! Dear John, The November local elections are right around the corner (in fact, early vote starts today) and in addition to the important local races you will be voting on this year, there are several ballot proposals on the back of the ballot that will drive a stake through free and fair elections. That’s why earlier this week, we launched our “Just Say No” Tour to urge all voters who care about election integrity to vote “NO” on these dangerous amends to our state constitution. These referenda are nothing more than Democrats’ attempt at a full takeover and radical legalization of rigged elections. They would roll out a red carpet for fraud, abuse, and ballot harvesting. Proposition #1 would dismantle independent redistricting and put control into the hands of the far-left legislature who will gerrymander themselves into permanent power. Proposition #3 allows for same-day registration, which would completely prevent elections officials from verifying the identity and eligibility of a voter and Proposition #4 would allow for an unbridled expansion of mail-in voting. All of these proposals would be an utter disaster for protecting the integrity of our elections and we cannot allow them to pass and be enshrined into our constitution forever. We are leaving no stone unturned traveling around the state to sound the alarm about these dangerous proposals. We kicked off our tour on Staten Island, then traveled to Long Island, Erie, Chemung, Steuben and Livingston Counties. We will continue barnstorming the state up until Election Day to alert voters to “Just Say No.” Please keep an eye out for a stop near you and urge your friends and family to join us in voting “NO” to protect the sanctity of our elections. If we get everyone out to vote and remind them to flip their ballot over to vote no on these propositions, we can stop this radical takeover of our elections. Go Vote. Flip your ballot. Vote NO on all proposals. Then text, call, or email up to 10 people in your network to make sure that they do the same thing. With your continued efforts, we will not only see a red wave of great Republicans elected on Election Day, but also reject these dangerous schemes coming out of one-party Democrat rule in New York. Sincerely, Nick Langworthy NYGOP Chairman Poll of the Week: Chairman Nick Langworthy wants to hear from you! Question: Do you support implementing a voter ID law in New York? These proposals make it easier to cheat and put in place one-party control over redistricting. As soon as you get your ballot, vote Republican (Row B) on the front and then flip it over and VOTE NO on all the ballot proposals. Watch Here Candidate of the Week! Every week we are choosing a candidate to highlight who needs your support! Felicia Kalan Candidate- New York City Council District 22 As a working mom of two, I decided to run as a Republican for office in District 22 because I saw a city government that was out of touch with everyday families like mine, and I want to fight to bring all New Yorkers a bright future. Our current elected officials make decisions that impact people without logic or vision- and I'm ready to get to work and make the necessary changes that will lead us to a new age of prosperity bringing good paying jobs, a vision that creates a safe and clean city, a place families can raise children, and a place where all people can thrive regardless of socioeconomic status. After graduating from the University of Evansville and studying at the American University in Cairo, I became a Legislative Aide. I left the government sector and became a social entrepreneur and started several companies and passion projects, including UNCHAINED, a national anti-human trafficking organization that raised awareness through artistic fashion shows and empowered survivors of human trafficking with education scholarships. I’m also the former Vice President of COhatch, a co-working, private-office and social-enterprise that uses community spaces to revitalize communities and incubate start-ups. For the past two years, I've been a freelance consultant for women-led start-up companies and women seeking high level positions with a mission to close the wage gap while raising my two children. I believe economic inequality and our city's greatest problems can be solved through innovation and empowering economic opportunities. I grew up in a struggling single mom household, and I always work hard to rise above my circumstances. Since the age of 15, I have not stopped working and I don't intend to stop now. While the future of our city looks bleak to some, I believe this is an opportunity to come together, fight, and make sure that New York City is a place where everyone can thrive. I will never stop fighting for Queens and for the beautiful city that I call home, and I will never stop fighting for the future of our children. Langworthy also addressed the state’s redistricting process and the efforts on the part of the Democratic party power base to engage in gerrymandering to fit their agenda. According to a report on SILive.com the redistricting process is routinely riddled with accusations of one party or the other trying to draw new boundaries to tip the electoral scales in their favor. Among other things, this year’s redistricting proposal would cap the number of state senators at 63. It’s an effort to prevent future legislators from tipping the balance of power in the Senate with new districts, according to The City. The SILive report indicated that the proposal would also change how prisoners are counted for redistricting purposes and alter some redistricting deadlines. This is of the utmost importance because they're changing the way our elections are going to function," Langworthy said Thursday in front of the Erie County Board of Elections. Specifically, the state Republicans and conservatives are urging people to oppose Propositions 1, 3 and 4. Proposition 1 repeals and amends parts of a 2014 state constitutional amendment that created a redistricting commission. Supporters said it's a good government bill that discourages things like gerrymandering, but Langworthy believes it's an effort to limit the commission's power and independence. "Democrats in Albany apparently aren't satisfied with the power they have," Langworthy said. "They want to knee-cap this commission in the middle of its work." Langworthy was joined by the borough’s Republican delegation -– North Shore City Council candidate Patricia Rodinelli, Assemblyman Michael Reilly (South Shore), Sen. Andrew Lanza (South Shore), Councilman Joe Borelli (South Shore), Borough President candidate Vito Fossella, Mid-Island City Council candidate David Carr, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (Staten Island/South Brooklyn), Assemblyman Michael Tannousis (Mid-Island) and Staten Island GOP Chairman Anthony Reinhart -- who are also in opposition to the ballot proposals. Langworthy said it’s his belief, and that of the Republican party, that the ballot proposals “defy common sense and threaten democracy.” “It’s almost as if Democrats are working to legalize rigged elections,” Langworthy said. Read Full Here NY GOP Chair slams management of Buffalo Billion Project Spectrum News New York GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy touched on the decision to get rid of equipment purchased as part of the Buffalo Billion Project. He criticized former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and then Lieutenant Gov. Kathy Hochul’s management of the project. New York State is currently in the process of selling and scrapping more than $200 million of high-tech equipment. That investment was initially made to benefit the Riverbend Manufacturing facility in South Buffalo and as part of the Buffalo Billion. The plan was to have solar panels leased to future tenants. "You want to talk about the Buffalo Billion, that was the Buffalo boondoggle ... people should be very concerned about a lot of those economic development policies," Langworthy said. Instead, his administration is not even trying to stem the flood of border crossings. It has only become more efficient at dispersing the migrants covertly throughout the country to avoid the optics of overcrowded detention facilities. We know Biden threw the border wide open on Day 1 of his presidency when he dismantled the Trump administration’s border-protection measures. He laid out the welcome mat to “coyotes,” cartels and criminal human-smugglers who prey on the most vulnerable people in the world. Read Full Here Ready to take back our state? Contribute today!
