Hi John,

Families in Westchester and Rockland Counties shouldn’t struggle to afford child care.

Seniors shouldn’t have to work past the age of retirement to pay for their prescription drugs.

Students shouldn’t have to choose between higher education and financial stability.

But millions of Americans struggle with these issues every day.

President Biden’s Build Back Better Act is an opportunity for our government to finally deliver for working families by establishing universal social programs to improve their lives.

But right now, a handful of renegade Democratic lawmakers want to weaken the bill by means testing it — or limiting who has access to benefits based on arbitrary income thresholds.

Mondaire is leading the charge to ensure these programs are universal. He recently wrote an op-ed with Katie Porter in The Washington Post on why we shouldn’t limit our social programs.

Not only does means testing have a history of being ineffective and unnecessary, but it also creates barriers for the most vulnerable Americans to receive the much-needed benefits intended.

The programs included in the Build Back Better Act are popular with the American people. But if we means test them and deprive millions of Americans of needed relief, they won’t be.

Friend, please chip in to support Mondaire’s re-election campaign so he can continue fighting to improve the lives of all Americans. [[link removed]]
