Dear Friend, This is the weekend to vote! So far, 6,236 Alexandrians have voted in person and another 4,905 Alexandrians have returned their ballot by mail or using our drop-box. Already 11,141 Alexandrians have voted, nearly double the 6,259 early voters we had 4 years ago. Yesterday was the deadline to request a ballot by mail, but there are 6,108 mail ballots provided to Alexandrians that have not yet been returned. Those ballots may be returned by mail or using the ballot drop-box located in front of 132 N. Royal Street. Yesterday, we opened a second early voting center at Beatley Central Library (5005 Duke Street). Today (Saturday), early voting will be available from 10 AM - 5 PM at Beatley and from 8 AM until 5 PM at our Registrar's Office (132 N. Royal Street). Tomorrow (Sunday), for the first time in Alexandria history, you can vote! Early voting will be available on Sunday at both locations from 11 AM until 3 PM. Alexandria's voters will be asked to select our Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Mayor, City Council, member of the Virginia House of Delegates, Sheriff, Commonwealth's Attorney and School Board. You can review the sample ballots online. I have the honor of running alongside a dynamic, energetic and forward-thinking Democratic ticket. At the top of the ticket, Terry McAuliffe will again be a great Governor, joined by our next Lieutenant Governor Hala Ayala and our wonderful Attorney General Mark Herring. We have the opportunity to send our current Vice Mayor, Elizabeth Bennett-Parker to the Virginia House of Delegates to represent the 45th District to join the House Majority Leader, Charniele Herring, who represents the 46th District. We will be electing a new Sheriff with Sean Casey as the Democratic nominee and re-electing Bryan Porter as our Commonwealth's Attorney. For the City Council, my colleagues Canek Aguirre, John Chapman and Amy Jackson will be running to return to City Council. They will be joined by Sarah Bagley, Alyia Gaskins and Kirk McPike seeking their first terms on the dais. I know this team will do great things for the residents of the City that we will be privileged to serve. The joint campaign has been knocking on doors for weeks, but each of us will need your support to be successful. Please consider making a contribution to support my efforts to serve Alexandria.
